Sweden is in the west of Norway, in north-east of Finland, in the east of the Baltic Sea and in the south and southeast of the Skagerrak and Kattegat limited. Most of the thousands of lakes are located in southern central Sweden. Sweden has 38,485 sq km inland waters. The largest lake is the great Vänern 5540 sq km, the highest elevation of 2111 m high Kebnekaise. About half of the country is forested. The Swedish part of Lapland in the north of the country is mountainous and extends over beyond the Arctic Circle.
